Getting organised with blackboard paint!
Since coming on board with The Sale Fairy, I’ve needed to get our home office into some kind of order. It’s been a paper jungle for so long and I thought it was about time to whip it into shape!
I’m always keen to use and recycle things I may already have and spruce it up with a bit of creativity. I’m forever trying to find bills that need to be paid or something that has arrived in the mail that I needed to sort, but have just thrown it into the paper jungle and never got to it for a very long time. It was definitely time to get myself organised!
I found an old wooden gift box, almost the size of a shoebox plus a couple of old magazine files that I thought could be great with a splash of some blackboard paint that we had in the shed. With a bit of chalk to identify what was in my newly created files, the end result was great with a trendy looking filing system. I now have a well ordered home office in the hope that I never have an overdue bill ever again!
You can see in the picture how great they look. Here’s hoping I can keep organised and maybe inspire you to be too!
There are many other great things to do with blackboard paint:
- Paint a wall, door or cupboard in the kitchen to jot down things to do, special moments to remember or even just the grocery list.
- Paint the top of a coffee table or a kids table to keep the kids busy with some chalk or paint some shapes on the wall for a chalkboard.
- Paint some old placemats for your next dinner party to write your guests names, or paint a stripe on some glasses and write who the drink is for so your guests don’t mix them up.
